Just a word of caution regarding the beans: Do not use oily beans in a this or any fully automatic machine. Very dark and oily roasts clog up grinders and brew units. This type of bean will also clog the channel from the bean hopper to the grinder. We found the Espressione Classic Espresso Blend Whole Bean Coffee to work extremely well with the Concierge. The flavor and coffee taste is the classic, robust coffee flavor you would except from high quality coffee beans."

Easy Espresso! September 2020
This is our office hero! There are many places to get coffee in the office, but I found myself saying “I’ll meet you in the espresso room.” And that’s because this machine made the best coffee around. It’s super easy to push a button and get a normal espresso or an Americano. And I love the crema!! Pulling a perfect shot of espresso can be difficult without the time or skills to master the correct variation in pressure and temperature. I’ve made plenty of unpalatable shots on a manual machine. This one gets it right, every time. It’s important to put the correct beans in there, but this machine makes it incredibly easy and fast to get a superb quality shot in no time.

Amazing Espresso Machine April 2021
I have owned other expensive automatic espresso machines, like a Delonghi Magnifica XS and hands down this is the best. You get an amazing machine for a very reasonable price. It’s very easy to use, literally as easy as pushing a button and every shot is consistent. We live in NYC and the size of this machine, it’s very compact, fits nicely in our kitchen. We love the sleek and modern design. It’s quieter compared to other machines, when grinding the coffee. If you are looking to purchase an espresso machine this one is a must. Highly recommended!!

Love this beautiful machine! Its sleek and practical design makes it easy to put in the office without taking up too much counter space. It looks great and makes delicious espresso every time!! We've used it for close to a year now and it's certainly a crowd favorite. Unlike other coffee/espresso machines, this machine is easy to clean and maintain. This was certainly a great buy, that we look forward to enjoying every day.

Best investment for a good morning  7 months ago
I used to use an Aeropress, which makes great coffee, but even the minimal effort can start to feel like a chore. I really can't believe that all I need to do now with my Espressione is put in the beans and push a button. To approximate my favorite Aeropress coffee strength, I do 2 double espressos and a longer shot. Unlike the Aeropress, I also get the crema. My son asked if I would evacuate the house with the Espressione, in case of a wildfire!! Worth the money.

Well worth the money! Beautiful crema every time. Delicious espresso. Makes every "coffee," a treat. Nothing to clean really, just dump the grounds and wipe down the steamer. Holds a good amount of water. Helpful for tea and hot water as well. Auto off means I don't have to think about it. I'm so glad we purchased and hope it lasts a long time.

Outstanding Fully Automatic Machine  May 2020
I absolutely love this machine! It is the perfect solution to households like ours where some may just want drip coffee while others may want an espresso, especially when entertaining. The machine is so easy to use and I love that is has a built in milk frother for lattes and cappuccinos. It makes excellent quality espresso with crema. The stainless steel looks great in my kitchen and brightens up the space due to its sleek design. It is also extremely easy to clean/maintain. I highly recommend this two in one machine!

Excellent Machine April 2021
I’ve had my Concierge for over a year now and it has been a great machine. It makes delicious espresso and is very consistent in a quality cup. I really like how it allows you to customize the grind and water to dial in to your liking. It is easy to maintain and clean. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an automatic espresso machine.

I love this espresso machine. The espresso comes out silky and milky and easy to drinky! Delicious! My starbucks membership will definitely suffer because of this machine. It saves me time and money and gas going to get my favorite coffee drink. All I have to do is walk to my kitchen and press the on button and in a few seconds, perfectly made, delicious espresso. The machine brings out all the flavors in the coffee beans. Its so easy to use, very easy to clean and takes up hardly no space at all on my kitchen counter. I replaced my Keurig with this machine and my kitchen looks a lot bigger and fancier with this high class machine. But not only that, I can now make lattes and capuccinos...I feel like a barista in my own home! Never thought I'd say it. It will definitely pay for itself in just a few months. Definitely worth the investment. I've researched many machines out there and this one is hands down top of the line!!! Get it! you will not regret it!

Great design, excellent coffee  A Year Ago
I wanted something compact that would make a great espresso. Friends have one of these in their office and it is used constantly throughout the day. I knew if it held up there, it would serve me for years. Everything has worked as expected. Great flavor, excellent steamer. When there is a hiccup with the function, like all "computers" I turn it off for a reset and it's back on track. Highly recommend it for design and function.

Pulls an amazing espresso shot  2 years ago
I rarely have time to review anything but this machine is so far beyond my expectations. I wanted a manual machine because I hadn't come across anything automatic that pulled a good enough expresso shot, with the crema and sweetness you expect from a top coffee shop, but my wife didn't want to use a manual one. I read the good reviews and took the plunge, expecting the worst, and this thing just blew my mind. My wife and I now enjoy our morning coffee almost too much and I'm totally spoiled for coffee when I travel. It pulls a better shot than the $5,000 Jura in our office for example. There is a minor issue where some of the warning lights "shadow" light up when the main indicator lights are on and the milk frothing wand could be a little beefier and further from the machine to use a bigger milk jug but I still call it 5 stars because the shots are that good, and that's what ultimately matters the most for an espresso machine.

This machine is a money saver! I think twice now before stopping at Starbucks! My wife and I had a couple of these machines cranking out espresso drinks for over 200 guests at our wedding without a hitch! The size and look make it so convenient and a beautiful addition to our kitchen countertops. Absolutely love it!

A great decision  August 2020
I don't usually write reviews but I had to for this espresso machine. It was a great decision. I did a lot of research on getting the best bang for my buck and truly believe this was the best decision. We've used this espresso machine over a year and it continues to make a great espresso with beautiful crema. I love to use the frother for my occasional almond milk lattes.I would absolutely recommend this machine to someone who is doing their research on a machine.

Great for Starting Out  a year ago
This is my first espresso machine. I spent a lot of time investigating what type of machine to buy and had planned to spend quite a bit more than this unit costs. When I saw the reviews on this one I decided to take a chance. I am very happy I did. I've been using the machine for almost three weeks. I love how easy it is to use and that I can have espresso or coffee. The machine is very attractive on the counter. There are a couple of things I would change if I could and I thought I'd share those in case they are a deal breaker for you. You can't froth the milk first and then pull the shot. The steam feature requires a hotter temperature than the shot and you have to wait quite a while for the machine to cool enough to pull a shot after steaming. You have to pull the shot first and then wait about 30 seconds for the machine to heat enough to steam. That being said, the steam feature is fabulous and my mochas are awesome. I don't like where the steam wand is located, in order to be comfortable I have to remove the portafilter. All in all this is a good thing because then I don't forget to dump the grounds. The only other thing I didn't realize was that the machine doesn't come with a milk frothing carafe and the tamper is plastic and on the end of the bean scooper. Honestly, it works just fine and I have been using it but eventually I'd like to upgrade to a leveler. The coffee maker uses a cone filter, which isn't my favorite but also isn't a big deal. For the price, you are really getting a fabulous machine. If you are a coffee snob like I am and being quarantined has you missing your local coffee shop, this won't break the bank and will give you those cafe drinks you miss so much.

Spectacular Thermoblock Combination Espresso & Drip Coffee Machine  a year ago
Thrilled with this Espressione Thermoblock Espresso Machine Used it first at a friends home and it was "love at first sight" with the sleek design and gleaming stainless steel body (not sprayed plastic parts as I've owned before). The machine works great with either E.S.E. espresso pods or traditional ground espresso coffee. Produces a rich crema which is piping hot. Performance is great. Price reasonable. Needed assistance in getting started properly (as I did not read the instructions) and found their service center informative and patient. It's necessary to prime the pump before use. In order to produce an espresso coffee after frothing/steaming the milk, you must permit the temperature of the thermoblock to cool down. This can be sped up if you let out steam and water through the steam tube until only hot water comes out. This process cools the temperature of the thermoblock down so that you can make additional coffees. Espressione Service Center were very helpful.  Highly recommend.

Great machine  a year ago
So far this coffee station is awesome. Coffee is super hot, Espresso is fantastic and steamer works perfectly. Make sure you thoroughly READ DIRECTIONS before you use it due to different switches, components and functions, but if you do you should be very happy too. I am using #4 filters which I recommend for longevity of coffee pot side. Hope it lasts for a long time as it was a surprise gift for my wife's Birthday. So far great machine for the price. Just made Cuban cafesítos with some Queen's Roast beans from Key West. Enjoy.......

My partner is in college and need a little booster for motivation for those late night studies. This was an awesome purchase. Has the regular coffee and espresso combo. We needed the espresso but didn't want to purchase another item for the counter top. No only size space but looks good in the stainless steel.

Clean look - does everything I need  a year ago
Fantastic machine for smaller household. I was not ready to switch to espresso only or completely non drip. Pods are too much waste for me .This is an amazing little machine - I have operated pro espresso makers so little bugs like a quick reset or making sure I fasten things correctly is all not news to me. Makes excellent espresso, heats up quick has a large water tank- I am pleasantly surprised and recommend this !! We have a 20K + mashine at work .. this tastes better...

I've had my combo machine for about 3 months now and I LOVE IT. I wanted to upgrade from my old maker but also wanted the option for espresso AND a steamer without taking up my whole counter. This compact machine is amazing and we didnt have to spend a fortune. been looking for a while...was not ready to let go of my morning Pot of coffee. I am very familiar with all the high end mashine. This was perfect and the espresso tastes absolutely super good!! Our work has a large fully auto gourmet swiss coffee/ espresso mashine which is open market offered at 20k + ..so I had a high benchmark. I am really pleased with my Expression EM-1040. I like that I can make a pot of coffee and a Latte or Espresso with the same machine. It doesn't take up to much space on my counter and is pretty easy to use. My machine came with two double espresso filters instead of one single and one double. I called customer service and they helped me right away getting me the missing filter.

Just what I wanted  a year ago
This replaced a previous Krups coffee/espresso machine that lasted for 25 (!) years, and is a worthy successor. Had to get used to a few things - the "pre-moisten" cycle that briefly wets the espresso grounds before the full cycle and the trick to changing the serving volume on the espresso machine - but it works easily. Beautiful crema on the espresso and great coffee.

Great machine at a low price  a year ago
We have only had this machine for two weeks, but it is fantastic. You just need to carefully follow the instructions and after a few cups it will be second nature. The espresso has a beautiful crema and strong taste. The frother is so easy to use and makes great foam. It's great that you can program the volume of water you'd like for a single or double espresso and it's so easy to fill the water tank when needed, without pulling the machine away from the wall. Highly recommended so far!!

I used to get dread getting up but not anymore, thanks to the Espressione. It has simple controls which is appreciated.The steamer is quite powerful and I also like water tank as it’s set back in the machine. Oh, by the way, it makes great coffee.I assume that’s because of the 19 Bars of pressure. This one is a keeper!

Got it as an early Christmas gift last year in November. It stopped working once, however I descaled it using hot water and vinegar. Still working perfectly! Great investment and once you get the hang of it, it becomes more user friendly.

This machine is sleek, simple and produces a great coffee. I love the price point for the look. I've seen similar machines looks wise that match my kitchen, but are twice the price. This looks great on my countertop and didn't cost me an arm and a leg. My family loves the espressos we make in the morning. Definitely worth the money. Would recommend.

This coffee grinder can handle a variety of beans which is why I call it a beast. I drink decaf, but love a strong coffee flavor, so my beans are dark and oily. Set on the finest setting, this grinder just turns my beans to dust. Perfect decaf coffee! My husband also loves strong coffee but he drinks the real deal, not a problem for this grinder. Oily, rich, dark beans are a breeze for this beast. My son likes a lighter cup from a dryer bean but of course this beast grinds them to perfection on a bigger setting and nothing binds up. We’ve tried multiple burr grinders over the years and nothing has handled our bean variety like this one.

Excellent for drip type/pour over brewing.  3 years ago
I purchased this grinder over three years ago and remain impressed by its workhorse durability and consistent, even grind of every bean type (light roast to dark roast) poured into its hopper. The singular exception took place this morning (hence the review), when it appeared the machine failed, and the sound of grinding beans came to a grinding halt, only to be replaced with whirring motor noises, grinding gears, and a locked-up mechanism. I then accepted the grinder provided an admirable three years of service and would replace it with the same--or consider a "better" model. When I removed the hopper, lo and behold, the problem became crystal clear, or rock solid, per one's choice of metaphor. Upon removing the rock and its fragments lodged within the grinding mechanism, it performed without a hitch, catch, or broken gear tooth becoming part of this morning's blend. The only con I find with this grinder, is the shape of the hopper relative to the bean type. Lighter roast beans fall freely into the grinder, however darker roast, oilier beans move less freely, due to their increased stickiness against the hopper's minimally angled wall surface. A simple solution to this minor problem is to jostle the machine during the grind process. When increased friction coefficients work against gravity, a little help is needed. Problem solved. Conclusions: • the grinder mechanism and motor are superb, and without spending considerably more money, difficult to improve upon; • the hopper hampers bean drop and could be easily improved upon. Highly recommended.

Grinds to a TRUE Turkish grind.  6 months ago
One of the few grinders which actually grinds all the way to Turkish grind! I like a cup of Turkish coffee every now and then, and most grinders (burr grinders included simply can't grind to the fine powder consistency required. This one does. Operation is a bit loud, but that's a price I'll gladly pay for a proper grind.

I bought this to replace a Capresso burr grinder that was about to die. I’m very happy the Expessione grinder. The grind is consistent, it takes a little less time to grind the same amount of coffee and it is not as noisy. Very easy to fill, clean and empty. It’s a little bigger than my old grinder, but not so much bigger that it creates a problem. Very happy with this purchase.

Many grind settings, all with consistent grind. Easy to clean. It’s not messy while grinding, but like all grinders there’s some cleanup needed after grinding. Only minus is the small arrow which can be hard to see on the grind setting. I’m quite happy with it.

Great product at a great price 7 years ago
If you do the research as I did, you will find that conical burr grinders are the best for coffee. This type of grinder produces the most consistently even grind which is especially important for today's expresso or single cup brewers. I looked long and hard for a good conical burr grinder and found several that I liked, but the only problem was they were fairly expensive. This unit was one of the most reasonably priced I found, and with the BB&B 20% off coupon it made it hard to pass up. I have been using the grinder for about a week, and it have to say that I am very pleased. As expected the grinding is exceptionally even. I
primarily use it to fill reusable capsules for my Nesspresso system. This requires a fairly fine grind that is just between Expresso and Turkish. This grinder manages it perfectly. I set the grinder to the 1st fine grind setting and it is exactly what is needed. Since the capsules are fairly small, I find that setting the amount to about 1.5 servings less then the amount of capsules I need to fill and it is about perfect. Another great thing is that once you have the grain and quantity set, you can just press the start bottom and it will give you the exact same measurement every time. This is much nicer than having to always adjust the timer. A nice touch is that the coffee exits out to the catcher from the top. This allows for less mess and more coffee in the container. Although great, it is not perfect. The main thing is that the input bean hopper is rather small. It holds about 1/4 of a pound of beans. For my needs this is fine, but if you are using it for larger quantities of coffee, you will need to fill it more frequently. Also, it is fairly loud when it grinds. Not crazy loud like some blender grinders, but, you will not be stealth when you are making coffee. The grinder also looks good. It is made of plastic, but all the key components are metal. I like the gray and black design that gives it a bit of an industrial look and fits into my kitchen next to the Nespresso system very nicely. All in all, this is a great product for a very reasonable price, especially with he 20% off coupon. I highly recommend it.

Powerful grinder; easy to use  6 years ago
I have had this for a week and used at least 5 times. So far, so good. The motor is powerful, so it grinds FAST. It is noisy, though; sounds almost like a jet plane getting ready to take off. Luckily, our cats don't care. "Footprint" on counter is smaller than some other burr grinders. It is difficult to see the very light markings for the fine to coarse grind; but now that I have found correct setting, it isn't a problem, since I don't need to change it. The cup into which the ground coffee goes has a small enough diameter so that it pours into coffee cone filter without making a mess. #With Cuisinart's large cup, I needed to pour through a canning funnel.# There is static, but no more than with prior Capresso or Cuisinart plastic cups. I use a small brush to brush the remaining grounds into the paper filter. I measure my beans each time, rather than relying on the timer to determine the amount of beans that is ground. Seven rounded coffee scoops #2 TBS each# almost fills up the cup when ground. What I don't know yet is whether this grinder will clog and need to be cleaned, and if it does, how difficult that will be. That was the problem with the Capresso model. I also don't know how long this will last, with almost daily use. Capresso died and Cuisinart broke right around one year.

Perfect grind every time. Temporarily, had to evacuate because of a wildfire...this burr grinder made it into my kitchen GO BAG. In uncertain times, a good cup of coffee can be everything.

I've tried various conical burr grinders and this one is definitely the best. It has 15 levels of grinding from coarse which is perfect for my french press of the finest setting which creates a great espresso grind. It appears to be very powerful, but the noise volume is less than other units. Consist grind each time with minimal static in the ground coffee container. Very well made and sturdy. Compliments by other black and stainless steel products on my bar. "Holds a ton of whole beans and coffee seems to stay fresh in the coffee bean bowl/hopper until ready to grind then brew. A very nice product which you will enjoy using.

Love it. Great to find the much preferred conical grinder for our expresso at a good price. The only thing is that sometimes the machine needs a little tap to get the beans to drop down so it is not always completely hands free. Does a terrific job otherwise! What do you like best about this product? Conical burr grinder at a good price! Do you have any helpful tips for using this product? Sometimes needs a tap to get beans to fall into grinder.

I previously had a Mr. Coffee burr grinder. The bowl part of it separated from the plastic piece. It can probably be fixed, but I decided to get a conical burr grinder instead. The Espressione seems very smooth and substantial. I like the ease with which it handles the coffee beans. I would recommend this grinder, but wish it were a little less expensive.

I've had for two years bought from BBB, very happy. Mine has a safety feature in that it will not grind if the plastic cup is not fully in place to capture the coffee. Like the side dial to measure cups and the ability to choose various grind options. I clean regularly and have not had any issues.

I've been using our new Espressione grinder now for a little over a month. Sturdy, quality machine and the grind is excellent(espresso OR coffee). Two odd things that don't really bother but 1st - it shuts off automatically after about 10 seconds even if there are still beans up top. 2nd - the lid MUST be on the output bin to grind...which means you're constantly putting the lid on and off since the hole the grounds fall through isn't large enough to get a spoon in.

The grounded coffee coincides with cups coffee perfectly. There shouldn't be a strong or weak coffee with this grinder. I love this product.
